<Note>
  The impact.com marketing source brings your affiliate and partnership
  performance (spend, clicks, impressions, and impact.com-attributed conversions
  and revenue) into Converge, so you can analyze it alongside your other
  marketing channels.
</Note>

## How impact.com maps to Converge

impact.com uses its own names for the levels of your account. Here's how they line up with the campaign, ad set, and ad structure you already see in Converge.

| impact.com  | What it is                                                              | In Converge |
| ----------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------- |
| **Account** | Your whole impact.com brand account.                                    | Connection  |
| **Program** | The partnership program partners join and get paid under. | Campaign |
| **Partner** | The publisher, affiliate, or creator driving the traffic. | Ad set |
| **Ad** | The creative a partner promotes: tracking link, banner, text link, etc. | Ad |

<Note>
  In impact.com's API, programs are called "campaigns". Converge reads them as
  campaigns, so what you see as a program in the impact.com app shows up as a
  campaign in Converge.
</Note>

Converge syncs every active program in the account. Spend is everything you pay partners (action, click, and other costs) which matches **Total Cost** in impact.com's own reporting.

## Create an impact.com API token

Converge reads your data with an impact.com API access token: an **Account SID** and an **Auth Token**.

1. In impact.com, select your **user profile** in the top navigation bar, then **Settings**.

2. In the left column, scroll to **Technical** and select **API**.

3. Select **Create Access Token**. Enter a **Token Name**, e.g. `Converge Marketing Source`, and a short **Description**. Set the **API Version** to 14. Select **Next**.

4. Toggle on the categories below and check these scopes:

   | Category                | Scopes                                                 |
   | ----------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
   | **Accounts (1)**        | Retrieve company information                           |
   | **Campaigns (1)**       | Retrieve campaigns                                     |
   | **Reports (3)** | List reports, Export report, Retrieve report meta data |
   | **Jobs Management (4)** | Retrieve job, Retrieve jobs, Download job, Replay job |

5. Select **Create**, then open the token to copy its **Account SID** and **Auth Token**.

## FAQ

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="How often does the data update?">
    Converge syncs impact.com every 6 hours.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why is my spend spread evenly across the day?">
    impact.com reports performance per day, not per hour. Converge spreads each
    day's totals evenly over that day's hours so impact.com lines up with your
    other sources in hourly reports. Daily and longer date ranges are exact.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need to set up Converge tracking parameters?">
    No. impact.com doesn't support Converge tracking parameters, so there's
    nothing to add to your links. This source brings in impact.com's own reported
    spend, clicks, impressions, conversions, and revenue.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Converge says it can't find the report it needs. What now?">
    Converge exports impact.com's built-in **Performance by Ad / Partner / Date**
    report. The reports available to you depend on your impact.com account, so if
    yours doesn't carry it, ask your impact.com representative to enable it, then
    reach out to your Converge representative.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Which programs does Converge sync?">
    All active programs in the account. Each one becomes its own campaign in
    Converge. Closed programs keep the data they already synced but stop updating.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I connect more than one impact.com account?">
    Yes. Create a separate marketing source per account, each with its own Account
    SID and Auth Token.
  </Accordion>
